In overcoming the seeds of intolerance and radicalism in the society at its grass root, the Wahid Foundation uses different methods, using economic and socio-cultural approaches.
The Peace-Loving Cooperative was initiated in 2012 and officially launched in May 2013. The program covers a number of districts and municipalities in the Province of West Java.
Its aim is to assist disadvantaged, unfortunate and poor groups to free themselves from the traps of poverty through a micro credit program. It also aims at building a sense of respect for differences and at reinforcing religious tolerance in the society.
More than two thousand individuals have already received the benefits of the Peace-Loving Cooperatives, including through business units and access to capital facility.
